That after all is just one example as well. The reason why these get posted is because they're popular people having banter among each other. People have banter between friends all the time on twitch. This is not banter between friends alone. Of course banter between friends will be better received than a random just talking shit. If you think otherwise you're very naive. So don't act like popularity doesn't crowd out the front page or influence people. Only so many posts can be on the front page at once. Greek doesn't even stream and his clips from other people's podcasts/streams still get to the front page a good amount simply because Greek is there. Which those exact type of XQC clips have made it to the front page multiple times.Īs a popular/larger streamer your daily content is several times more likely to make it to the front page with far less effort. Likewise if XQC does something like this it will get to the front page, not easily, but with a lot more certainty simply because XQC has a lot of fans. Have it posted to new and it will not get anywhere. To put this into an example, Someone completely random could shit talk about someone like Destiny or Greek, or do the loud mic gain bit. This means that other posts by less popular people need to achieve a higher level of content or uniqueness than a popular streamer to even get votes. The XQC post is far more likely to be upvoted and make it to the front page due to his popularity since reddit is a voting system after all. To explain, an XQC post and a random post of the same context or quality are not equal. This clip is literally just a guy losing a match of rocket league and then leaving. Some of the things you linked would be residentsleeper'd hard and probably were at the time too: There is only so many times you can see someone making a stupid voice in GTA and then the dogshit AI doing some dumb shit in the background before you realise this aint all that funny. This clip, this clip was spammed in a sea of 50 billion other GTA rp clips. You don't remember the average clips from 2 years ago. No one remembers the average bands from those days. Like, yeah, you're cherry picking the best. Then when asked to name a few artists, you name fucking queen, metallica and michael jackson. So thats about as retarded as saying '70s / 80s / 90s music is way more inspired and better than 2010s music' I mean some of these clips are some of the most upvoted posts of all time on this sub. Maybe this is getting old fast but I still think the quality of fails or funny stuff was better 1-2 years ago. I mean yeah of course many popular streamers were posted here 2 years ago too but now they get spammed and every little unfunny shit gets posted 10 times.
